Valerie Jackson

Resident of Altadena for 45 years and community advocate

Valerie Jackson has owned her home in Altadena since 1980, and worked in the same community for nearly 30 years, where she and her husband raised two kids. Valerie was instrumental in garnering neighborhood support for Five Acres’ non public school, it’s Arts & Education Center, and the community Support Center that serves the foster children and families in those programs.

Upon adding a new bedroom/bath suite, laundry room and lovely deck, two days after completion of her new addition, the entire home was lost to the Eaton Canyon fire. In fact, her entire street was gone!

Nothing left for this retired senior to do but to rebuild her home and help her neighbors do the same.
